It's turned into quite the forgettable season in Hockeytown, U.S.A.

The Detroit Red Wings were dealt back-to-back multiple-goal losses over the weekend, losing 4-1 to the Boston Bruins and 5-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Sitting in the basement of the NHL with a paltry 14-43-4 record, the Red Wings goal differential hit the century mark after falling to the Bruins.

After Sunday's outing, the team now sits at -106 (123 for, 229 against).

For reference, the Los Angeles Kings as the second-worst at only -42, a difference of 64 goals on the season.

With 21 games left to play, the Wings are closing in on the all-time cap era record of -112 held by the 2014-15 Sabres, who finished with a 23-51-8 record for 54 points.

The 2016-17 Colorado Avalanche had a -109 goal differential after finishing with a 22-56-4 record in head coach Jared Bednar's first year on the job after Patrick Roy abruptly resigned just before training camp.
