Professional athletes are always spending time in the community giving back in many different ways, regardless if it’s the regular season or the offseason.

On Wednesday afternoon, Detroit Red Wings Danny DeKeyser and Luke Witkowski were back at Little Caesars Arena, where they surprised more than 500 second grade students with brand new bicycles, helmets, locks and bells.

The donation came as part of the 2019 Road & Bicycle Safety Program between the Detroit Red Wings and Chevrolet, and it’s something that’s going to go a very long way for hundreds of students and their families.

DeKeyser and Witkowski weren’t just there to surprise the kids with bikes, though, as they also held a little Q&A and took time to interact with as many of the kids as possible.

It might be the offseason for the Red Wings but these guys are still in regular season mode when it comes to giving back.
