One of the most touching stories to come out that highlighted the man Halladay was is a story from ESPN reporter John Barr, and an interaction his son had with the two-time Cy Young winner over the phone following his no-hitter in the 2010 playoffs.

Not many athletes would be so gracious and take time out of their day to do something like that, let alone after a playoff game where they just allowed zero hits.

Halladay was an amazing baseball pitcher and will go down as one of the best pitchers of his generation, but the way he conducted himself and the role model he was is why so many people were devastated upon hearing the news of his death. This story encompasses that.

We’ll miss you, Doc.

RIP Doc.
