Orlando City SC topped NYCFC to advance to the MLS Eastern Conference semifinals on Saturday afternoon and they did it in a wild way.

Orlando thought it had won when goalkeeper Pedro Gallese turned away NYCFC’s fifth penalty kick, officials ruled that Gallese left his line too early which led to his second yellow card and an eventual red card. To make it all even wilder for Orlando, officials then ruled that their backup goalie Brian Rowe was ineligible, forcing them to put reserve centre back Rodrigo Schlegel in between the pipes.

Well, he stepped up in a massive way.

Schlegel made a big save when his team needed it the most and then Benji Michel finished the deal with Orlando’s next shot, putting them through with a 1-1 (6-5) victory over NYCFC.

Absolutely wild.
