It was an unpopular and illogical decision we’ve seen in this football season, and one outspoken NFL player expressed his displeasure publicly when the Bills shocked the football world by benching quarterback Tyrod Taylor for their game against the Chargers this week.

Richard Sherman took to Twitter to blast the Bills for sitting Taylor in favour of rookie Nathan Peterman.

Trying to shake things up, Bills coach Sean McDermott and his coaching staff decided it would be in the team’s best interest to bench Taylor even though his numbers over the last few games were similar to his career avergaes.

Peterman’s debut start was one to forget, as the rookie threw five interceptions in the first half alone in against the Bills matchup against the Chargers, helping them jump out to a 37-7 lead.

Sherman perfectly summed up the thoughts of many of us on Sunday and leading up to the match. The Seahawks injured corner wasn’t the only person that was outspoken on the decision.

Taylor, Peterman and the Bills were a trending topic on Twitter, and as you could imagine, the statistics regarding Peterman’s dreadful performance does not make it look pretty for the Bills.

ESPN and Peterman even tried to warn us all.

The Bills eventually trotted out Taylor after the team had gone down 40-10, with Peterman finishing the day with five picks.

The phrase “that’s so Buffalo” was repeated again when Buffalo turned back to Taylor, which will only create more questions and discussion points in the Buffalo media.

Peterman became the first rookie with at least three interceptions in the very first quarter he played in since Patrick Ramsey of the Washington Redskins inflicted the same misfortunes back in 2002.

Life was so much simpler for the Bills three weeks ago when the team was 5-2 and looked like a team that could legitimately lock down a wildcard spot in the AFC, but are in serious danger of losing their spot.
