Thursday night, the Florida Panthers honoured the victims of the Majory Stoneman Douglas High shooting in more ways than one.
Along with the blood drive, the Panthers held a pre-game ceremony for the victims and Roberto Luongo had an opportunity to speak to the crowd on hand during the ceremony. Luongo, who has lived in Parkland for the last 12 years, delivered a powerful and emotional speech to the crowd and the students from the school that were in attendance. The shooting hit close to home for Luongo, too, as he was in Vancouver and the school his son attends was in lockdown. Thankfully he was safe, but others were not and based on his powerful speech, Luongo wants to see change and will do his best to make that change happen.
