Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour was not a happy camper following Carolina's Game 1 loss to the Boston Bruins.

A loss is a loss, but one of the goals just didn't sit well with the Canes bench boss, and it's tough to blame him for feeling the way he feels. With the game tied at 1s in the second period, Petr Mrazek appeared to cover a puck that should have stopped play... but hold the phone! Nick Ritchie and Anders Bjork managed to poke the puck from under his glove, giving line-mate Charlie Coyle a wide open cage to shoot at.

According to The News & Observer, Brind'Amour challenged the wrong aspect of the Bruins goal because the on-ice officials would not tell him the call. He was asked about the incident after the contest and did not hold back... at all.

Rod didn’t hold back 😮😮

Rod the Bod just speakin' his mind. You love to see it, but the wallet does not. The former Canes captain was slapped with a $25,000 fine for his comments. That is a LOT of cash.

The comments may have burned a hole in his pocket but his goalie must have at least appreciated seeing his head coach stand up for him. Carolina ultimately dropped the game 4-3 in double overtime, so the non-call proved to be pretty costly.
