Between the Boston Red Sox and the Atlanta Braves, the MLB’s conference finals now have a couple feel good underdog stories to watch. On Monday, the Red Sox defeated the Rays in walk-off fashion to secure their place, and on Tuesday the Braves rode a tie-breaking 8th inning Freddie Freeman bomb to victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

For the Braves, it’s the next chapter in what could become a Cinderella story. Despite finishing atop their division, the Braves waltzed into the playoffs with the lowest record of anyone, including both Wild Card teams for American League and National League.

But, as John King would say, that’s why you play the games! The Braves disposed of the Brewers in 4 games, riding some hot pitching to a convincing October series win. While the true hype moment came when Freddie Freeman launched an 8th inning pitch over the centre field wall, Ronald Acuña Jr. had a pretty fantastic reaction to Will Smith recording the final out of the game.

Acuña Jr. was injured back on July 10th when he tore his ACL trying to field a liner. As a result, the Braves’ most vaunted slugger will miss the remainder of the postseason as he rehabs from the tough injury.

While we’re sure he would love to be out there with his teammates, it seems like Acuña is still having a blast during this playoff run.
