The Kansas City Royals are just three years removed from a World Series Championship, and they won that one in a different way than most would expect from a championship team. While more recent winners in the Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs are were locked and loaded full of talent for their World Series runs, the Royals played more of a small-ball, everybody-do-their-part type of championship. While it’s true they had a dominating bullpen that could be relied upon late in games, they didn’t have much in the way of power – a staple for most people’s imagined championship teams.

Since that run, the Royals have been relegated to mediocrity. A 81-81 season was followed up by a 80-82 season, and the Royals are taking steps to make a change. While they aren’t out there trying to woo the likes of high-profile free agents, they are making some structural and organizational changed.

Apparently that includes cracking down on pornography.

An organization known as “Fight the New Drug” is trying to raise awareness on the harmful effects on pornography. They believe that it could have effect on domestic issues, as well as generally affecting morals and values that could be harmful to leadership qualities, among others. The franchise has dealt with a fair amount of legal problems since their 2015 championship, with the most recent coming in the form of DUI from pitcher Danny Duffy, so it appears they are ready to walk the line other teams may leave untouched.

While some are obviously teeing off on their opinions that the seminar is unnecessary or childish, others are applauding the franchise’s bold step into no-man’s land.

That must have been a fairly uncomfortable seminar though…
