Russell Westbrook may have taken the crown for the funniest scrum interviews from Marshawn Lynch in recent years, never holding back when he thinks reporters are being silly.
At this point, it seems like his presence alone is able to get reporters off their game. That’s not an exaggeration either, one reporter had to stop and gather himself in the middle of asking a question at a recent scrum.
In the latest episode of Westbrook owning reporters, he called out Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald for trying to “get cute” with his word choice in his question to Westbrook.
The reporter did his best to defend his honour on Twitter, saying that it was his own statement about not being cute and that Westbrook was merely agreeing with him. He’s not wrong, but he’s definitely taking the L in this exchange.
On the bright side, it was clearly all in good fun. Not every reporter that gets a unique response from Westbrook can laugh it off quite as easily.
