Everything seemed pretty okay for the Miami Dolphins heading into Week 7. Journeyman quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was in the midst of a career year and the Dolphins are 3-3; just game behind the Buffalo Bills for first place in the AFC East. But apparently Fitzy’s 1,535 yards and 12 total touchdowns weren’t good enough to help him keep the team’s starting job for when they return after their week 7 bye.

On Tuesday, the team surprisingly named their 2020 fifth overall pick, former Alamaba star Tua Tagovailoa, their starter going forward. Crazy, right? Tua had been recovering from a serious hip injury and is apparently now healthy, but that didn’t make the news any less surprising for Fitzmagic. According to the 37-year-old, he was shocked by the decision and the way he found out about it was just heartbreaking.

Oh no. That’s just brutal. And there’s more…

Poor Fitz. Tough way to go out, but can keep his head up high knowing he gave it his all. And as you’d expect, Tua was all class after discovering the news.

Fitz 34,421 yards, 220 passing touchdowns and arguably the best beard in NFL history… if this is it, then what a career it’s been for the journeyman. We just hope another team is wiling to take a risk on him because the dude is so much fun to watch.
