Ryan O’Reilly is officially a Stanley Cup champion and Conn Smythe winner, and as it turns out, he had to battle some pain before earning his new hardware.

After the players finally left the ice, the 28-year-old revealed that he had cracked a rib against Dallas. As we’re all aware, there really isn’t a cure to cracked ribs, so O’Reilly was forced to playing a whomping 13 games with the injury. If his beard and missing jibs weren’t enough, this officially makes him the biggest #HockeyGuy imaginable.

O’Reilly may have played through pain but it didn’t show on his face… at all. He and St. Louis native Patrick Maroon posed in a photo of a lifetime on the way back to St. Lou fallowing the win.

After a series of losing seasons in Buffalo, things turned out pretty nicely for O’Reilly in his first season with the Blues. We’re sure nursing the injury will be that much easier with the Stanley Cup in his arms.
