The Stanley Cup Final wouldn’t be the same without a war of words brewing following the first game of the series.

And wouldn’t you know it, it involves Golden Knights tough guy Ryan Reaves calling out Capitals pugilist Tom Wilson.

During Game 1, Wilson laid out Jonathan Marchessault with a blindside hit even though he was nowhere near the puck. The contact of the hit was shoulder-to-shoulder but that didn’t mean it wasn’t cheap.

Reaves was asked of what he thought of the hit afterwards, and he did not hold back his words.

Wilson caught up with TSN’s Darren Dreger, who provided a little more detail onto what he thought of the hit.

Isn’t having Reaves out on the ice supposed to prevent this type of behvaiour, or is that an old boys tale that really has no truth to it anymore?

Wilson is still going to do what he does best, and that’s tip-toeing on the line of fair or foul, even though it seems like Wilson ends up on the wrong side of the line more often than not.
