Before every game, the players on the Regina Pat Canadians Midget AAA team would go around the room and everyone would choose an NHL player they wanted to play like that night. For captain Adam Herold, the youngest of the 15 players and staff killed in Friday night’s horrific highway accident, his pick was always Minnesota Wild defenceman Ryan Suter.

Late Sunday night and early Monday morning, some of Adam’s AAA teammates reached out to the Minnesota Wild and Ryan Suter on Twitter to tell them how Adam always picked Suter during their pre-game ritual and wanted to know if they could reach out to Adam’s family. By early afternoon, the three-time NHL All-Star did just that as he shared a heartfelt message on social media.

Suter tweeted ‘I’ll never forget your tribute, Adam.” and included this message in the tweet.

It’s unknown whether or not Suter will have any other kind of tribute planned for Adam during the playoffs, but his message in his tweet is going to go a very long way and touch a lot of people.
