While Steph Curry had another incredible season with the Golden State Warriors, helping his team reach the NBA Finals for a third straight season, it’s been widely talked about as an underwhelming year for the first unanimous NBA MVP ever. Some of that has to do with another superstar in Kevin Durant coming to the team, and some of it has to do with his shooting woes this season. Whatever the reason Durant or his shooting woes, Curry will no doubt be a massive talking point this NBA Finals.

Curry’s father, Dell Curry, was a professional basketball player as well, playing his final three seasons with the Toronto Raptors. While in Toronto, Steph and his younger brother Seth would occasionally come to practice and take part in shooting games with the Raptors teams.

Seth was a guest on Chris Broussard’s ‘In The Zone’ podcast recently, and discussed him and his brother going up against NBA Legends like Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady.

The following excerpt comes via Ball Is Life, and a transcription of Seth Curry’s chat with Chris Broussard:

The clip about the two shooting as well as Raptors players, and being picked before NBA players during shooting games begins around the 18:01 mark in the video:

We know Seth’s story checks out, as Carter himself has spoken on playing 1-on-1 with a young Steph Curry back in his Toronto days.

When questioning where Steph and Seth get their confidence from, one doesn’t have to look much further than playing 1-on-1 with Vince Carter in his prime when they were still in elementary school.
