This year’s Super Bowl matches one of the league’s best offenses against one of its best defenses, but according to Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman, several assistants and executives around the NFL don’t think that it’ll be close.

The San Francisco 49ers’ defense has proven itself deep, balanced and formidable all season long, but the operating belief seems to be that Patrick Mahomes just can’t be stopped right now.

“Three assistant coaches and two front office executives with whom B/R spoke all picked the Chiefs, big, and I don't think this belief is isolated,” writes Freeman. Between the combination of Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid, NFL insiders feel that the Chiefs have the most important elements of a winning team at their peak right now.

Mahomes has been doing it all lately, and we’re used to seeing him do it with the arm but he even legged out a 27-yard touchdown run in the Chiefs’ AFC championship game win over the Tennessee Titans.

We’ll have to wait and see if Richard Sherman, Nick Bosa and the other talented players peppered across the 49ers defense can make this one a close game. Personally, we think it’d be real cool if the Super Bowl wasn’t a blowout!
