If you take a look at the Arizona Coyotes’ all-time leaders lists, you’ll find Shane Doan's name at the top of just about every list.

Doan scored 402 goals and totaled 972 points in 1,540 games with the franchise. However, Doan’s time with the Coyotes came to an end on Monday as the team informed him they were parting ways after 20 years in Arizona and 21 NHL seasons.

As per Pierre LeBrun, the #Coyotes are parting ways with #ShaneDoan. . Visit TSN.ca for more details.

The 40-year-old two-time All-Star was shocked by the team’s decision to move on, but he took the news like a true veteran and didn’t seem to have any hard feelings.

Even though he experienced more bad times than good, Doan was always loyal to the Coyotes and always wanted to be part of the process regardless of if they were a playoff team or in a rebuilding phase.

According to AZ Sports’ Craig Morgan, the team offered Doan a front office job but he hasn’t made a decision just yet.

Shane Doan has been the face of the Coyotes for pretty much his entire career, so it’s going to be a little strange when we don’t see No. 19 take the ice next season.
