While Antonio Brown’s NFL career hangs in the balance, the wide receiver has turned his ire to Patriots owner Robert Kraft and the guaranteed money that may or may not be heading his way.

It’s been a wild ride, but believe it or not, some of Brown’s Patriots teammates were reportedly frustrated to see him go.

“Several players privately voiced their displeasure that the move was made, as Brown had made a positive impression on teammates in a short time. He did things in practice no one else could do,” Ian Rapoport reported.

Brown’s football talent has certainly never been in question, but Rapoport adds that the Patriots were ultimately convinced to release him after reports of threatening text messages that he had sent to the second woman accusing him of sexual assault.

Those concerns far outweigh anything that Brown might’ve shown his teammates on the practice field, and they’re a significant part of the reason that he may not get his guaranteed $9 million from the Patriots after all — reducing his 2019 earnings in the NFL to just a single game cheque.

As a result of losing so much in contract guarantees this year, Brown is claiming to quit the NFL.
