The KCTV5 news station in Kansas City just wanted some aerial shots of Arrowhead Stadium, home of the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs, for their upcoming playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts. On their way there, however, they were greeted with something much, much better.

Mario Kart! But not just Mario Kart. Mario Kart, on the jumbotron at Kauffman Stadium, where the Kansas City Royals play. It’s hard to say what would be more entertaining: Playing Mario Kart on a jumbotron, or being on a helicopter and inadvertently coming across somebody else playing Mario Kart on a jumbotron.

The Royals shed some light on this delightfully oversized Mario Kart game, explaining that it was part of a fundraising effort. They held an entire tournament, with benefits going to “children and military families.”

Believe it or not, this has been done before. During a rain stoppage in a Cleveland Indians game earlier this year, players decided to play — you guessed it — Fortnite on the jumbotron. And we’re totally sure that nobody in the paying audience had complaints.

For real, though, videogames on a jumbotron will never get old.
