The Dallas Stars selected Finnish defenceman Miro Heiskanen 3rd overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft with hopes of him joining their blue line in the very near future.

The 19-year-old spent last season with HIFK in the Liiga, but there’s a very good chance we’ll see him on the Stars’ game day roster at some point this season, especially after what he did during the team’s NHL Prospect Tournament game against the New York Rangers on Friday night.

With Dallas trailing 3-2 in the second period, Heiskanen put the team on his back and simply did it all by going end-to-end and trying the game.

It might just be a rookie camp game, but it’s not like the Stars prospect is going up against some average players in a summer beer league, these are guys competing for a spot in the NHL as well.

The Espoo, Finland native played in 67 Liiga games over the past two seasons as a teenager and recorded 16 goals and 17 assists for 33 points.
