Direct head-to-head collisions are one of the scariest things can happen in team sports. The majority of the time when it occurs it's completely accidental, which was definitely the case on Thursday night when Steven Adams and his teammate Terrance Ferguson collided with one another.

During the third quarter of the Thunder's match-up versus the Suns, Adams and Ferguson's heads bumped together after the guard sprinted towards the paint to cover his man. The result was truly scary, as Ferguson was left unconscious on the court.

Following the collision, Ferguson was helped off the court and taken to the Thunder locker room to be further evaluated. Speaking after the game, head coach Billy Donovan stated that Ferguson is in concussion protocol and will likely miss multiple games.

Thursday was a particularly bad night for head injuries in the NBA, as Celtics guard Jaylen Brown also suffered a concussion, falling awkwardly to the court following a dunk against the Timberwolves.
