When you see a player sitting on the bench for two periods, you usually assume it's because they've done something wrong, and have since been "benched".

When you see that it's Steven Stamkos that's been sitting there, you know that can't be the case.

Stamkos could give away three goals on his own net and still be given ice time. He's one of those unbenchable players, yet he found himself sitting there for two-thirds of the game, only logging 5:17 of ice time by the time the final horn sounded.

As it turns out, Stammer aggravated a lower-body injury. While most players would call it a night and hit the showers, Stamkos decided to stick around to "cheer on his teammates".

That's a true leadership move, and it would definitely be appreciated by those around him. Tampa managed to put the pieces together and defeat the Chicago Black Hawks, 4-2.
