From the NBA to the NHL, plenty of sports organization and professional athletes have stepped up during this tough time for everyone who was part of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. To hosting tribute ceremonies ahead of games to rocking special decals and patches on their helmets and jerseys, we’ve seen the community come together in different ways.

This past Friday, the Stoneman Douglas lacrosse team played its first game on home soil since the shooting and honoured the victims in many different ways ahead, during and after the game, but one way they plan on honouring them all season long is with a decal on the back of their helmets.

The decal consists of pictures and names of all 17 victims from the Parkland shooting and it’s one of the most powerful tributes we’ve ever seen.

The team also released 17 angel balloons before the game to honour the fallen members of the community, while the visiting team gave them 17 roses during the coin flip.

On top of the beautiful pre-game ceremony the team also added MSD Strong artwork to the field, which was donated to them by the Miami Dolphins.
