Team Sweden continues to make waves, as expected, at the IIHF World Hockey Championship. The Swedes have won four out of their first five games, good enough to put them tied for 2nd behind the undefeated Russians in an 8-team Group B. They are hoping their early success continues as the knockout rounds approach.

As with any successful team, they need their stars to stand out. Led by William Nylander and his tournament-leading 13 points, the Swedish squad certainly hasn’t been shy on that front. Sometimes the significance comes from the behind the scenes work, though. The people you may not even know the name of.

On Saturday, Swedish equipment manager Anders β€œPudding” Weiderstals was brought into the spotlight to celebrate an impressive 35 years in his position. While the moment was sure to be heartwarming, it was made even more-so by the fact that he didn’t even seem to expect it.

In fact, he looked like he was endearingly busy working when he realized it was him them were honouring.

Get yourself an equipment manager like Pudding!
