After he was spotted on the Washington Metro with teammate Matt Niskanen en route to Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, T.J. Oshie is back at it again. In advance of Monday night’s Game 4, Oshie once again opted to take transit, but this time, he ran into a highly relatable problem at his exit stop.

Don’t worry, bud. We all forget to reload our card sometimes:

We imagine Oshie doesn’t often take the Metro, so, hey, we won’t hold it against him for not having auto-reloading set up on his card. We’ll tell ya, though, it can be a life-saver.

Doubly embarrassing in this whole experience is being T.J. Oshie, and having to endure a delay that, of course, is being watched by dozens of passersby. Just think of how many more fans asking for photos that you’d have to put up with in that extra minute at the fare machine!

On the other hand, this is a very cool way for a professional athlete to mingle with the community, and more athletes should do it. Just remember to check that card balance regularly if, for whatever reason, you aren’t going to set up auto-reload.
