Get excited, hockey fans! The best time of the year is upon us, and despite absolutely nothing going according to plan for the duration of this entire calendar year, the 2020 World Junior Championships are just a couple of short weeks away.

Today, Team Canada finalized its roster, and Canadian hockey fans seem pretty stoked about how it shaped up.

While things North of the border are set in stone roster-wise, Team USA has opted to delay until tomorrow morning to announce their final cuts. A couple of top players have already been held out of the tournament by their big league clubs as a result of the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming NHL season, and the USA might loose one more big piece when it’s all said and done. Let TSN’s Bob McKenzie take you through this saga regarding Toronto Maple Leafs property Nick Robertson, who may or may not be suiting up for the red, white, and blue this tournament.

Just to stress what an asset Robertson is, he scored an astounding 55 goals and 86 points in a mere 46 games for the OHL’s Peterborough Petes last season. Robertson managed to notch his first NHL goal in the four games he played for the Maple Leafs in the bubble, and at last year’s WJC, he was a point per game player.

It’s safe to say that USA fans definitely want Robertson on the team this year, and we’re keeping a close eye on how this one plays out.
