The NHL officially unveiled the lineups for this year's All-Star Game in San Jose and for guys like Steven Stamkos (6th), John Tavares (6th) and Patrick Kane (8th) it’s just another day at the office.

However, for 10 of the players who will make the trip down to San Jose for this year’s edition of the annual event it’s an entirely new feeling for them as they’ll be making their NHL All-Star Game debuts.

Atlantic Division

David Pastrnak

This might be the most shocking name on the list of players making their NHL All-Star Game debuts this year because it’s not like David Pastrnak just came out of nowhere. The past two seasons he averaged nearly a point per game and is already up to 24 goals and 50 points through his first 40 games of the season.

Thomas Chabot

Thomas Chabot has made many Ottawa Senators fans completely forget about Erik Karlsson. After scoring nine goals and totaling 25 points in 63 games last year, the 21-year-old has already set new career-highs across the board with 10 goals, 28 assists and 38 points in 38 games, good for third in the entire league for points by a defenceman.

Metropolitan Division

Sebastian Aho

Sebastian Aho put together an impressive rookie campaign by scoring 24 goals and 49 points in 82 games and he backed that up with an even more impressive sophomore campaign by scoring 29 goals and 65 points in 78 games. This year, Aho looks well on his way to setting career highs yet again as he’s already scored 15 goals and 39 points through 38 games.

Mat Barzal

A lot of hockey fans felt that Mathew Barzal was robbed from last year's NHL All-Star Game. Well, this year he'll finally get to make his debut as the 21-year-old will be the lone representative from the New York Islanders.

John Carlson

Many hockey fans thought John Carlson’s 2017-18 campaign was a result of an up year for the Washington Capitals and the fact that he was in a contract year. However, through his first 37 games of the season the 28-year-old has already scored six goals to go with 32 assists for 39 points, good for fourth in the entire league for points by a defenceman.

Central Division

Mikko Rantanen

Mikko Rantanen had quite the breakout season last year as he saw an incredible increase across the boards when it came to his stats. After posting 20 goals, 18 assists and 38 points in 75 games during the 2016-17 season, the Finnish forward totaled 29 goals, 55 assists and 84 points in 81 games last year. This year, the 22-year-old is well on his way to a career year as he’s already totaled 17 goals, 45 assists and 62 points through 40 games.

Mark Scheifele

If it wasn’t for an injury last season Mark Scheifele most likely would have made the All-Star team. This year, the league made no mistake as the 25-year-old will make his NHL All-Star Game debut after putting up 22 goals and 27 assists for 49 points in just 39 games this season.

Miro Heiskanen

There were rumours throughout the offseason that the Dallas Stars would not make a trade for Erik Karlsson because they didn’t want to give up Miro Heiskanen and the 19-year-old rookie is showing everyone exactly why they wanted to keep him. In 40 games this season, Heiskanen has played major minutes for the Stars on a nightly basis and has seven goals and 17 points to show for it.

Pacific Division

Clayton Keller

20-year-old Clayton Keller will be the Arizona Coyotes’ representative at this year’s NHL All-Star Game. Through 39 games this season, the second-year player leads the team in points with 29 and sits tied for second in goals with eight.

Elias Pettersson

It’s no surprise that Elias Pettersson is already making his NHL All-Star Game debut in his first season. Through 36 games the 20-year-old has already scored 19 goals to go with 20 assists for 39 points, and owns a 14-point lead over Colin White for the NHL rookie scoring race.

Here's a look at the entire roster for each of the four teams.
