An unusual MLB season continues to get more bizarre.

Tuesdays afternoon's game at Target Field between the Minnesota Twins and Pittsburgh Pirates was delayed because a drone was spotted hovering over the field during the fifth inning.

Umpires pulled the teams off the field concerned for their safety. Some of the players attempted to knock down the drone by pitching baseballs at it.

Flying drones over ballparks during play is illegal, even without fans in attendance.

The drone eventually disappeared flying away from Target Field and the players returned to action.
