The Avalanche's Stadium Series jersey leaked and the reactions aren't great

Going to get this out of the way right off the bat, I (Luca Celebre) am a massive Avalanche fan and my support of the team is unwavering.  We're less than 5 years removed from the 22-win season, but the Avs have turned things around the ice and it's an exciting time if you're a Colorado fan.

I'm also a brutally honest fan, so when I say this team is arguably the best in hockey and can win the Stanley Cup, I'm not just saying that because I'm a fan of the team.  That honesty works both ways, so when I say the Avs' leaked Stadium Series jersey might be one of the worst in hockey history, I mean that with all my heart.

Is my initial reaction an overreaction of seismic proportions?  It most certainly could be, but the Avalanche have set the bar so high with their current alternate jersey that might be impossible to clear.

That's what makes this leaked jersey so disappointing.  Not only does it fall short of that bar, but it doesn't even get off the ground in my opinion.

Maybe in time I'll come to appreciate the Stadium Series sweater if this truly is the design (fingers crossed they call an audible).  Heck, maybe once the team releases it and I see Nathan MacKinnon rocking it my opinion will completely change.  At the moment, though, the jersey is a bad dream I want to wake up from with the realization that it's not reality and nothing more than a figment of a dream.
