The Boston Bruins have one of the biggest fan bases in North America, but in an effort to grow the game overseas, the team is playing against the Calgary Flames in Beijing.

The Boston Bruins were probably at the peak popularity in 2011 after they defeated the Vancouver Canucks to win the Stanley Cup. While there are still some core members that are still with the team today, they have also seen several big names exit the squad since then. Apparently the Bruins’ hotel missed a couple of pieces of news, because in a gesture that was obviously in good spirits, they just missed the mark.

Tyler Seguin and Tim Thomas are probably still pretty popular in Boston, but we’re sure the team’s current players were a little confused.

The Tim Thomas jersey could at least be considered vintage because he’s out of the league at this point, but the Seguin jersey is a little weird considering he is a premiere player that the team – probably unwisely – traded away.

No matter, they’re still having a blast across the pond.
