After having to postpone their last seven games, the Vancouver Canucks are nearing a return to play. Pending Saturday’s COVID-19 test results, the teams plans to re-open their facilities for practice on Sunday and then return to play on Friday, April 16 against the Edmonton Oilers.

In the NHL’s revised schedule, the Canucks will finish their season on May 16... which leaves them with 19 games to play in 31 days.

The May 16 date means that the NHL will conclude its season a few days later than originally planned, and it’s natural that they’ll want to begin the playoffs as soon as possible.
Still, with so many games to finish in such a condensed amount of time, this could be a physically demanding stretch for the Canucks.
