Free Agent Frenzy is well under way in the NHL as teams work to lock up their guys, make splashy new signings, and address team needs. It’s never just which player goes where, it’s for how long, and how much money that really matters.

For Cody Ceci, coming off of a year in which he made $4.5 million with the Toronto Maple Leafs, his new signing with the Pittsburgh Penguins was for a much more reasonable $1.25 million for one year.

How reasonable? Well, luckily for us, CapFriendly provides a tool in which it compares contracts to other similar contracts. In Ceci’s particular case, the results were pretty hilarious.

Is Luca Sbisa just the definition of consistency? How did he come up as ALL THREE most comparable contracts?

Well, guess we know who to compare Ceci to this season.
