When the NHL draft lottery commenced last month, the team with the most lottery luck was the Carolina Hurricanes. Coming in with the 11th best odds at picking first overall in the draft with a 3.0 percent chance, Carolina moved up nine spots to second despite their 3.3 percent chance of doing so.

The Hurricanes, amidst a organizational reshuffle after Tom Dundon took majority ownership of the club back in January, have an abundance of young defenceman both on their roster and in their prospect cupboard, and could look to draft a high-profile scoring winger with their second overall pick.

Most mock drafts have Barrie Colts sniper Andrei Svechnikov going second overall to Carolina, but there are some that feel the club should look at either Filip Zadina or Brady Tkachuk. Either way, the Hurricanes need scoring, and the club is asking its fans on Twitter on who exactly they should choose.

Svechnikov is a multi-demnsional player and can score from just about anywhere on the ice. Noted for his world-class skating skills, and his ability to combine both power and speed, he can play in all situations and has a strong sense of defensive responsibility.

Zadina is much more of a sharpshooter, and made his living by scoring from the circles and in front of the net, which will surely be much more difficult to do at the professional ranks.

Whoever Carolina chooses will surely fit in well with a talented young group of forwards in Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen, Martin Necas and company that needs to stockpile talent up front to complement their depth on the backend.

So, Canes fans, who do you want your team to pick? Is there someone else catching your eye?
