Intermissions are going to look a little different without fans in the stands at NHL games, so there should essentially be no pressure to entertain between periods, right? Well, maybe not quite.

The Colorado Avalanche kicked their season off against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday and let’s just say the arena operator had a little… fun between the 20s. To spice things up for those working in the arena, they decided to say what the heck and project their game of solitaire on the ice. Very different than the Timbits players or bubble soccer we’re used to see but hey, with no one allowed in arenas at the moment… we’ll take it.

Now that’s a first. Got to be honest, this writer has literally zero idea how to play solitaire but if he did, he’d be following pretty darn closely. Maybe throw Hearts in their? Some Bridge for the older viewers? Maybe even a little Texas hold’em?!

This really just provides extra context for how strange of a time we’re in right now. Can you believe that this epic ‘Mite of the Night’ interview from a Washington Capitals game took place last season?! A lot of us should remember this one, and it seems like it was ages ago. How times have changed.

We have a feeling the creative intermissions are just getting started. What else would you suggest?
