Although he's still in the early stages of his tenure with the Arizona Coyotes, Phil Kessel's new teammates took great care of him on Saturday night.

"The Thrill" was honoured ahead of the Coyotes home game against the Ottawa Senators for playing in his 1000th game in the NHL.

The former Boston Bruin, Toronto Maple Leaf and Pittsburgh Penguin was gifted a silver stick from the team, a custom Rolex watch from his teammates, and a crystal plate courtesy of Coyotes legend Shane Doan to celebrate the milestone.

Brad Richardson, Derek Stepan and Oliver Ekman-Larsson presented the watch to Kessel at centre ice, alongside his parents, while wearing the Coyotes Kuchina jersey.

Kessel potted his first two goals as a 'Yote earlier this week and has four points in six games on the season.

In the off-season, he was traded for the third time in his career. Kessel played 222 games with the Bruins, 446 games with the Maple Leafs and 328 with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Saturday night matchup was game No. 1,003.

His 781 consecutive game streak is third behind Keith Yandle (804) and Patrick Marleau (791).
