Across the league tonight, thereβs numerous Hockey Fights Cancer games and initiatives taking place.
They're all fantastic, but the one in Scottsdale has managed to catch our eyes more than any, and for good reason.
The Coyotes have a new addition to their team, and they made it official. The Yotes introduced us to Leighton Accardo, who is currently fighting cancer.
When we say official - we mean that for real. She signed a deal with the Coyotes to become a member of the squad.
Leighton - being a hockey player herself, warmed up with her teammates on the ice. Then, captain Oliver Ekman-Larsson made things even more special. Instead of having Leighton drop the puck as per usual procedure, he dropped it, and had her take the face-off.
Are we tearing up, or is it dusty in here?
We have a good feeling Leighton will provide the Yotes with some serious luck tonight.
