Yesterday, the Canadian sports landscape lost a legend.

Joey Moss, who will forever be a pillar in Edmonton’s professional sports scene, passed away yesterday at the age of 57.

Moss accomplished much in sports during his life, all while maintaining an infectious smile and an excellent sense of humour. He became the locker room attendant for the Edmonton Oilers' after a glowing recommendation from Wayne Gretzky, and also worked with the Edmonton Football team for decades.

He was just as much apart of these teams as any one who ever stepped on the field or onto the ice, and now, his teams are honouring his legacy with a very touching tribute.

Today, the EE Football team shared these heart-wrenching photos of the field painted in his honour, and we don’t think there’s a better way to remember such an epic sports personality.

This is the perfect way to honour Joey’s larger-than-life legacy, and we’re thinking of all his loved ones at this unthinkable time.
