Dreams come true on the football field, and when they do it’s hard not to feel like you’ve fully deserved it. The game is such a grind, and it takes immense resilience and determination to be crowned champion of a football league.
Sometimes the victory is made even sweeter, and Gonzaga is feeling that after a wild finish to the WCAC championship game in which they defeated DeMatha.
A last minute drive leading to a nice catch that didn’t even count for a score, and then was finished off on a crossing route instead. Wow. THEN, a kickoff return for touchdown in which the returner runs through the entire team. What! And THEN, a Hair Mary thrown half the field is actually caught as time expires.
You can’t get much crazier than that, and you can bet it made Gonzaga’s victory taste just a little sweeter.
