Brad Marchand has once again managed to make headlines for all of the wrong reasons.

During this afternoon’s contest between the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks, Marchand awkwardly collided with Chicago Blackhawks forward Anthony Duclair. It appeared as though Marchand was attempting to dodge his opponent, but managed to clip him instead. Duclair was forced to leave the game and was unable to return.

Marchand can’t seem to stay at of trouble. Whether this was intentional or not, his reputation has rubbed fans the wrong way and he’s gradually earned a villainous status within the league. Hockey fans and analysts were furious about the play and made their thoughts public on Twitter.

Marchand was suspended for five games earlier this year after he elbowed New Jersey Devils forward Marcus Johansson in the head. Despite his reputation, the 29-year-old has impressively posted 67 points in just 52 games.

It will be interesting to see if the league takes action, but in the meantime, all fans can hope for is that Duclair came out of the collision with his health.
