The Washington Capitals have been one of the most dominant teams over the past decade and they have a core group of players they can thank for that with one of them being Braden Holtby.

Now, with the NHL suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic, Braden and his wife, Brandi, are playing a key role in the community as the couple are raising money that will go towards meals for children in need.

The couple has currently raised nearly $6,700 of the $10,000 total they’re trying to reach through 88 donations and it doesn’t seem like they’re going to stop once they hit the goal.

Over the course of Braden Holtby’s 10-year career, the 30-year-old owns a 282-122-46 record with a .916 save percentage, a 2.53 goals against average and 35 shutouts, and also owns a 48-41 playoff record to go with a .928 save percentage, a 2.09 goals against average and 7 shutouts in 89 appearances.
