On Friday night, a familiar face will make its way into the Bakersfield’s Condors arena. The first 2,000 fans, 10 and older, will receive a figurine of Condor Queen Victoria that will commemorate the five year anniversary of its viral escape onto the ice.

‘Joe The Birdman’ will return with the bird for what should be an energetic crowd against the Ontario Reign. In case you forgot , the condor managed to escaped Joe’s arm and glide its way across the ice. Efforts to capture the bird failed miserably and it managed to make its way onto the bench. You get a feel for just how big it is when it’s lined up beside massive players.

The Condor isn’t the first animal to travel across the ice and likely won’t be the last either. In a postseason game between the Nashville predators and San Jose Sharks, a black cat managed to sneak its way onto the ice and go for a small cruise around the rink.

If you happen to go to the game, make sure you’re paying attention to what’s happening on the ice. Who knows, the Condor could decide to take another trip around the building.
