The Vegas Golden Knights are a very strong hockey team (as it turns out) but their social media game is debatably even stronger. Despite being the newest franchise in the NHL, they have left a huge footprint for future expansion teams to try to emulate.

Many thought their terrific 109 point regular season was a fluke, but they’ve carried that success into the post season. They even won their first round matchup against the gritty L.A. Kings to the tune of a 4-0 sweep. In the second round they’re facing the Sharks, who tied the series up at two games apiece with a 4-0 shutout over the Knights. The Kings, who are apparently still a little bitter, took to Twitter to express their glee with the result.

Kind of a strange chirp, but nonetheless the try “OHHHHH” moment came when the Knights, and their heavyweight Twitter presence, responded with a timely burn that sent the Kings to an early grace.

Hockey Twitter can be fun sometimes 😂😯

Boom. There’s no coming back from that one, and they were even facing fire from their own fans.

She also laid down a tongue-in-cheek comment, but they took that one a little better.

Either way, if you mess with the Golden Knights, you’re going to have to deal with some golden clapbacks.
