If you’re superstitious, then this might send some chills down your spine. With the Los Angeles Lakers and others around the basketball world honouring Kobe Bryant on 8-24, the date that coincides with his two jersey numbers in the NBA, it was like even the game score wanted to pay tribute.

In the first quarter of Game 4 against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Lakers came out to a fast first quarter start, at one point taking a 24-8 lead... on 8-24.

To make the moment even more special, the Lakers were wearing their Black Mamba jerseys co-designed by Kobe back in 2016.

Other NBAers, including Chris Paul who attended the game from within the bubble, took notice of the score coincidence. "Bean is ALWAYS watching!!!" he wrote on Twitter.
