The Tampa Bay Lightning were back in action on Wednesday night for the first time since Saturday and it was a very special night at Amalie Arena.

Before the game, the Lightning brought out 46 Medal of Honor recipients onto the ice as they paid tribute to them with a special ceremony and a ceremonial faceoff.

It was a beautiful and touching pre-game ceremony and it was capped off with the ceremonial face off, courtesy of Corporal Hershel W. “Woody” Williams, USMC (Ret.), who’s 96-years-old and received the Medal of Honor from President Harry S. Truman for his bravery in the Battle of Iwo Jima back in 1945.

The Lightning topped things off by scoring two goals in the third period, including one in the final minute of action, to win the game, 3-2.
