We're one day away from the start of the NHL season and we're SO excited for hockey to finally (The Rock voice) be back.  Now is the perfect time for previews and predictions to wrap up, and every year EA Sports does a season simulation.

Their season simulation success rate isn't great when it comes to predicting a Stanley Cup winner, but it's fun nonetheless and a simulation is just as good as prediction.  Tuesday, EA dropped this year's season simulation and Leafs fans may want to turn away because it's another first round exit to a team they just can't seem to beat.

Some other interesting notes, the Golden Knights make it to the Stanley Cup Final for the second time in a three-year span, defeating the Colorado Avalanche in 7 games in the Western Conference Final.

Furthermore, there was only one new playoff team in this simulation, the Florida Panthers, who took the spot of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

EA also revealed some award winners and Nathan MacKinnon took home a couple pieces of hardware for the first time in his career, while no Leaf player cracked the 100-point mark.
