The Toronto Maple Leafs are headed to Game 7 with the Boston Bruins, so something like a finalist list for awards is likely the last thing Morgan Rielly is worried about. And it’s a good thing, because he didn’t make it.

After a career year in which he put up 72 points while playing all 82 games for the Buds, many thought he would be in consideration for the Norris Trophy (awarded to the league’s best defenceman). Rielly led all defenders in Goals (20) while compiling the 5th most assists (52) but when the Norris finalists were announced, his name was not on the list. Instead, Victor Hedman, Mark Giordano, and Brent Burns got the nod.

As you may expect, Leafs fans had a lot of opinions about it. On the other side, people stood up for the finalists and took the opportunity to take a jab at Leafs fans.
