Uh… what the heck is going on with the Packers?!

Just months after being named MVP, quarterback Aaron Rodgers reportedly wants out of Green Bay and expressed interest in joining the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders. It’s tough to blame A-Rod considering what’s transpired over the past year (remember when the team drafted a QB and backup RB with its first two picks last year, instead of a wide receiver?) but general manager Brian Gutekunst made it clear that despite the noise, the Packers are not going to move him.

The 37-year-old, who is signed through 2024 at $25 million, reportedly turned down an extension from the Packers. Rodgers has spent his entire career in Green Bay but hey, it’s not like this would be the first time a Packers legend left the team. His predecessor, Brett Favre, eventually left Green Bay and ultimately landed on the Minnesota Vikings after a stint with the Jets.

To add some salt to the wound, Gutekunst elected to draft a cornerback instead of a receiver… again. Behind Davante Adams, the Packers next leading receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who had just 690 yards last season. We’re just going to have to see how this one plays out but at least for now, it doesn’t look A-Rod isn’t going anywhere.
