When watching coverage of the first round of The Masters across TSN on Thursday, we noticed something peculiar about Bubba Watson. The two-time Masters champion uses pink golf balls on the course.

The Masters tournament in particular is the most traditional and distinguished golf event in the world, yet Watson is rocking pink golf balls.

Watson has used a signature pink driver for quite some time now (pictured below), and the pink golf balls are apparently an extension of the driver. Originally, being able to drive the ball further than all of the other golfers while using a pink driver gave Watson bragging rights over everyone else. He got extremely comfortable with the brand, and this past year he signed an endorsement deal with Volvik. Volvik are a brand known for their coloured golf balls, and we guess the rest is history.

The below excerpt is from For The Win of Watson discussing the golf ball brand he uses:

We're fans of the pink golf ball, but to be honest, we always assumed Rickie Fowler would be the one signing endorsement deals with coloured golf ball brands. The colourful balls just seem to suit Fowler better.
