The San Jose Sharks are one of the best teams in the NHL when it comes to their promotional giveaway items during the regular season. From a Brent Burns Grill to a Jumbo Joe Chia Pet, the group in charge of coming up with the promotions is always coming up with some new and creative.
With the start of the 2018-19 NHL regular season quickly approaching the Sharks decided it was the perfect time to drop their promotions for the upcoming season, and they’ve come up with some fantastic items, once again.
The first giveaway of the season will come at the home opener, where fans will receive their magnet schedule giveaway. From there the Sharks will give away multiple Los Tiburones themed items this season which will include a hat, jersey and shirt. The hat will be given away on October 18 against the Buffalo Sabres, the jersey will be given away on October 20 against the New York Islanders and the shirt will be given away against the New York Rangers on October 30.
The most popular theme night in sports is Stars Wars Night and the Sharks will have one of their very own this season. On November 3, the team will give away two different types of Star Wars shirts when they take on the Philadelphia Flyers.
For every San Jose home game the team comes ripping out of a Sharks’ mouth. Well, fans heading to the game against the Minnesota Wild on November 6 will get their very own mini Shark head figure.
Three different items added to this year’s giveaway schedule are a Brent Burns Camo Bag (Nov. 11 vs. Calgary Flames), a Labanc Piggy Bank (Feb 18. Vs. Boston Bruins) and a Timo Time Alarm Clock (March 7. vs. Montreal Canadiens).
While all their giveaways are pretty awesome, it’s their bobbleheads that take the cake. This year the Sharks have nine different bobblehead nights planned and they’re all as amazing as the last one. It starts with a Back to School with Hertl and DeMelo double bobblehead on December 5 and is followed up by an Evander Kane boxing bobblehead on December 10. A few days later fans will get a Brent Burns Zoo Animals bobblehead on December 13, followed by Hertl Holiday Suit bobblehead on December 23, the Owen Nolan “Calls His Shot” bobblehead on January 5, a Joe Thornton fighting bobblehead on March 1, Evander Kane and Penelope the Chihuahua bobblehead on March 9, The DonFather on March 16 and they wrap it up with the Pavelski bobblehead on March 25.
Other giveaways include a Martin Jones Game of Jones figure (April 6 vs. Colorado), a Martin Jones Marvel Night bobblehead (January 12 vs. Ottawa), a Warriors Night jersey giveaway (February 16 vs. Vancouver) and a Burns Nesting Doll giveaway (March 14 vs. Florida).
