No matter what team you’re playing on, or what team you’re cheering for: nobody likes to see anyone leave with an injury.

In tonight’s tilt that featured the Ottawa Senators and the Boston Bruins, Senator Scott Sabourin collided with David Backes and went down at a scary angle, losing consciousness almost immediately.

It was apparent to everyone that the injury was serious. Sabourin stayed down, and was stretchered off the ice.

In a great act of sportsmanship that we really haven’t seen before, both teams cleared the benches as Sabourin was helped off.

THAT is the kind of class we like to see.

According to Hailey Salvian of the Athletic, Sabourin was conscious in the ambulance.

We wish him a speedy recovery, and a quick return to the ice.
